This cozy neighborhood restaurant was started by friends for friends. Over a bottle of red wine they envisioned a place where friends, neighbors and family could gather, enjoy great food, toast friendship and simply relax. That red wine daydream became a reality with Vin Rouge!

Start the day with breakfast in one of Spokane’s south hill favorites. Vin Rouge rolls out a scrumptious selection of omelets, some with traditional fillings and others with more unique variations. French toast and Pumpkin Pancakes are young family favorites while a “Bene” of poached eggs, Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce fills heartier appetites. Try the Crab Benne for a NW bene version.

For lunch Vin Rouge offers fresh ingredient salads from Cobb to chicken to crab. Wholesome sandwiches range from the more usual ground chuck burger and eternal Rueben to the unusual roasted wild mushroom, blackened salmon or Panini.

Dinner at the VR is the highlight that caps many a diners day. A hard choice ensues between the turf and surf! Will it be the glazed Flatiron Steak, Mexi-flavored Flank Steak  or Rack of Lamb? Or should it be the Sangria glazed Prawns, marinated Wild Salmon or wine pan Seared Halibut? Repeat diners know they need to save room for the mouth watering deserts.

The proverbial “happy hour” here at VR becomes the Social Hour and the time to gather with friends and family for a light appetizer and drink before the real dinner hour. A large selection of martinis and other cocktails is highlighted by the made from scratch lemonaide that at this hour transforms into Scratch Hard Lemonaide.
