Districts

Garland District

A north side stretch of street featuring old brick buildings filled with art galleries, coffee shops, books and baked goods. Stop for an ice cream at the giant milk bottle before heading for a show at the old art deco movie theater. More…

The Campbell HouseBrowne's Addition
Just west of downtown is an architecturally significant historic district. A great place to walk and experience magnificent old homes on tree lined streets, the historic Campbell House, coffee and lunch at locally famous cafes. End the day with a cultural experience at the MAC, our local art and culture museum.

Hillyard

This neighborhood to the east, a National Historic District, portrays the legacy left by the railroad and the 1892 Great Northern rail yard. The areas is still rich with antique shops, small cafes and an old town feeling all its own.

South Perry District

Head south from town to experience a greenhouse of plants and down the way a natural food store housed in a windmill. A converted old gas station rocks with tunes of local musicians and provides the local place to conjecture over coffee.
