Tucked in a little SODO shop literally just south of downtown, are larger than life flowers that creatively bloom on the walls of a small painting studio. In her cozy little studio/gallery Neicy Frey invites you to enter her world of dreamlike flowers, oceanic shapes and vibrant color.

With a childhood spent in South India and Malaysia, Neicy draws her color palette and imagery from the brilliant colors, patterns and ornate decoration found in architecture, clothing and the folk art of Southeast Asia. A new emerging painter on the Spokane art scene, her work can already be found in many collections around the Northwest.

 Neicy’s larger than life flower bouquets are brought to life using drippy washes of pigment overlaid with rambling contour lines. They have a dreamlike quality that is both organic and bold, yet inviting and sensual.
