shopping is always visit the place with a great selection. Thumbs
up…this is your place to look for art! Gallery of Thum’ is
a multi-faceted Fine Art Gallery, jewelry, greeting card and gift
shoppe. The gallery represents more than 30 artists, both from
the local area and others from across the United States.
A wide
variety of fine art, from paintings and drawings to sculpture and
prints, literally fills the walls from ceiling to floor. Complementing
this fine array of art are silk scarves, hand-turned pens, paper
mache’ decorative art bowls and bead and jewel jewelry. A
nice selection of miniature art greeting cards are designed and
offered by local artists. Gallery of Thum' is also a greeting card,
lighograph and screensaver company.
The gallery features the work
of its owner Cecile Charles an accomplished artist herself. Not
only does Cecile work in many different mediums with various types
of paper, wood, and canvas, she also sculpts tiny faces. Using
her thumb as the armature and paper as the medium, she creatively
develops intriguing facial features for these tiny “Thumb-Buddies”.
Located in the historical Steam Plant Square, which
is in the heart of the Davenport Arts District, the gallery is
in easy walking distance from downtown proper. The Gallery of Thum’ has set
its sites on being the place to go when you ask the question: G.
