Caterina Winery’s
tradition of handcrafting premium wines began as a tribute to a
beloved Italian Grandmother who lovingly created wines for the
sake of enjoying them with family and friends. Today, Caterina
is a boutique winery producing a wide range of wines to enjoy and
share. Since 1993, Caterina has provided the ultimate Washington
Wine experience with traditional Single Vineyard Wines as well
as artistic non-traditional blends that showcase the grapes from
the Yakima and Walla Walla Valleys of central WA.
Monica Meglasson came to Caterina in 1998 and in
2002 took over as Winemaker and Director of operations. In honor
of the wineries Italian heritage Meglasson began working with the
varietals Sangiovese and Pinot Grigio. To date they have been very
popular and regularly sell out before the release of the next vintage.
Located in the historic Broadview Dairy building,
the Caterina Winery and tasting room is just a skip across the
river from downtown Spokane. The winery believes that today’s
wines are best expressed through tradition blended with art. Not
only is there art in every bottle of their wine, you will also
find it adorning the walls of the tasting room! Rotating art shows
display the work of many local artists and live musicians perform
on the garden patio Friday and Saturday nights.
